Zeynep Çilingir graduated from the Faculty of Theology at the University of Jordan in 2012 and completed her master’s degree in Islamic Philosophy at Marmara University’s Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies in 2017. She completed her PhD in Arabic Language and Rhetoric at Marmara University in 2024 with her dissertation titled “The Construction of Neoliberal Subjectivities in Lebanese Children’s Literature.”
Her main area of research My main area of research is the intersection of literature, politics, and childhood studies. Çilingir continues her work by focusing on the comparative analysis of the construction of child subjectivities in children’s literature produced in different Arab countries after 1990. She has also strong interest in Arabic sociolinguistic studies, particularly on language, power, and identity.
Çilingir is currently an assistant professor in the Arabic Language Teaching Program at the Department of Foreign Language Education at Istanbul 29 Mayıs University, where she teaches undergraduate and graduate courses and continues her academic research
